Its founder Steve Hornsby has over 30 years of business experience, of which over 20 have been in management consulting, working with over 50 different organisations in over 25 countries across every continent. Prior to founding Hemisphere, Steve was a Partner with IBM Global Business Services, and previously with PwC Consulting and Coopers & Lybrand.

In its first year of operation, Hemisphere assisted The Global Fund and UK Department for International Development (DfID) to win an Award at the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)
Supply Management Awards 2014 for an innovative procurement transformation programme.
Hemisphere was lead consultant for the Procurement 4 Impact (P4i) transformation programme for The Global Fund that developed and operationalized its strategy, and transformed its approach. The transformation improved sustainable access to health products - savings over $500m; doubling of On TIme In Full to 80%; and significantly improved Supplier Relationship Management.
Hemisphere was global programme management advisor for a leading European Generic Pharmaceutical company enabling it to achieve on-time go-live compliance in February 2019 with the EU Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) across all of its European affiliates with no supply disruption for around 10,000 SKUs. FMD is new Europe-wide legislation aimed at stopping counterfeit medicines across the region. It is the largest verification project in the world; it is underpinned by the largest ever European healthcare IT project.
